Tarikere

Tarikere is taluk head quarters in Chikmagalur district Karnataka state of India. The name is due to a number of water tanks,surrounding. Tari means paddy, Kere means large water tank, Chikkere (Small Tank) Doddakere (Big Tank) Dalavikere, Ramanayakankere etc.

It is one of the important taluk in Chikamagalur district. it is famous for arecanut plantations. The people here are very good.
